At this time we do not have suitable housing for volunteers. The past three years our summer volunteers have stayed either at a nearby lodge which is expensive or in the girls’ dormitory with the children. Due to the constraints of the boys’ dorm, we are able to house only female volunteers at the Center. Ultimately, we would like to expand our program so we have volunteers at Rapha Community Center throughout the year. With limited housing and resources, it is difficult to find people who would be willing to stay for long periods of time. A private volunteer house would allow us to hire an onsite coordinator who could manage the volunteer program and recruit volunteers willing to stay for extended periods of time. More volunteers translates to a growing network of donors, sponsors and people who are becoming invested in the work we are doing for the children at Rapha Community Center.
