This past May, the children at Rapha Community Center participated in the annual “How to Draw a Lion” art class, led by Brooklyn-based artist, John Platt. This is a dynamic program that teaches children from schools and children’s home in Africa about the magic of art. Students learn how to paint and by the end of the multi-day class, beautiful paintings are created and then auctioned in the United States to raise funds.

This is our third year participating in the program and we are so proud of the talented artists that we have in our community. Every year the students learn more and develop their skills. We now have many of the older students teaching art to the younger children. Their work is inspired and we look forward to sharing the results from their class in our annual art auction. We hope you are able to join us!
