John was hit by a car when he was a child. His injuries were never treated and as he has grown, the bones in his right leg haven’t developed properly. The doctor said he needed to have a corrective procedure within the next two years or the damage would be permanent. I shared his story last year before he was set to have surgery.

Thankfully it was a success, and with months of rehabilitation, John’s leg has healed. He is on his way to resuming the activities he loves so much, like playing soccer!

It was so good to see John on my recent trip to Kenya. I will never forget when he came up to me and said with tears in eyes, “Thank you for helping me. If it wasn’t for you, I would have been in pain for the rest of my life.”

It was just one of those moments when I am reminded of the importance of this work, and the impact we are making in the lives of all the children at Rapha Community Center. Your support enabled us to help John. Together we changed his life.
