I shared Edward’s story last year. He was finishing his final year of school at Rapha Secondary, ready to begin a new chapter in his life. His goal was to continue his arts education, and I’m thrilled to say that Edward has done just that since leaving Rapha.
When I was in Kenya this past year, I had a chance to meet with Edward. It was so moving to see the young man before me. He has experienced a lot of darkness in his life, but our community provided the light to help him find his way. He discovered his talents, and now he is sharing those talents with the world.
During the How to Draw a Lion art class this year, Edward returned to Rapha to mentor our younger artists. He is a positive example to all of our students, and I couldn’t be more proud of the person he has become.
Edward has two original paintings featured in our annual art auction. In two weeks you will have the chance to bid on his paintings, as well as 22 other paintings created by the children at Rapha Community Center. The online auction site is ready to go, so head on over to choose your favorites. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the children. Get ready to bid on November 28th!
