In 2013 a volunteer group traveled to Kenya to help fund and construct a greenhouse at Rapha Community Center. For many years that greenhouse served our community well. It allowed us to grow tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables which are not easily grown in our area. The new variety of food helped us to improve the nutrition of our children, and we were able to generate income through produce sales at the local market.

During the past few years, wear and tear and a number of extreme storms have taken a major toll on the greenhouse. As you can see in the above picture, a large section of plastic is missing and it is no longer being used for its intended purpose. Thankfully the frame is still intact, so our goal is to fix it with fresh plastic that is more durable than the kind previously used. Our volunteer team plans to help us with this project and they are raising funds to make it happen.

We can’t wait to have our greenhouse back! It will make such a big difference to our community once again. Help our volunteer team finish the greenhouse project by making a donation today.
