I’ve had a lot of special moments when I visit the children at Rapha Community Center, but some of my favorites are when I see their creative talents manifest before my very eyes. When a child stands with courage before their peers to perform an original song or dance, I feel so amazed, but also completely confident in the environment we are creating at Rapha.
There is so much more to education than memorizing facts and preparing for tests. At Rapha Community Center, all students are encouraged to think outside the box and to believe in their natural gifts and abilities. The How to Draw a Lion art class is one of the most exciting opportunities available to our children. The annual class has been so successful and popular that we are in the process of adding an art club to the school so the children can create all year long.
I remember being shocked by the paintings the students created during the very first class. Six years later, I am still so pleasantly surprised because the paintings continue to improve. This year is no exception, and I’m thrilled to share them with you during our upcoming annual art auction. Bidding will open on Monday, November 29th at 8:00am and close on December 4th at 8:00pm, just in time for holiday gift giving. I’ll send more information as we get closer but be sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on the fun!
100% of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the children at Rapha Community Center. Every child deserves the opportunity to expand their talents. Your donations and support enables HEAL to provide programs that foster the magic of creativity in our community. Your gifts shine through every child as they grow, learn and create.
With gratitude,
